Three decisions, made first

A drone is only as dependable as the motors under its arms. Every Taraxis unit starts from the same three choices.

A stator we wind ourselves

A laminated steel core, wound on our own winding machines, with the leads brought straight out to the controller.

Magnets that hold their strength

N52H, the high-temperature grade, in every motor we build, set into an aluminium rotor bell.

Models

Two integrated units and three motors to start, with more on the way. Full specifications are published at launch.

X6 class

To be launched

For spraying and heavy-lift multirotors. Our first unit, developed against the market-standard X6 class.

X8 class

To be launched

The larger unit for heavier payloads, developed after the X6 on the same stator, rotor and controller design.

Motors

2806

To be launched

28 × 6 mm stator. For small multirotors and light survey drones.

4006

To be launched

40 × 6 mm stator. Flat and light, for mid-size multirotors and mapping.

4215

To be launched

42 × 15 mm stator. More torque for larger multirotors and light payloads.

An 80 mm-class BLDC motor in development for larger multirotors. Enquiries are welcome.

About the 8020 motor

Built for the work

Units for drones that fly every day, in Indian conditions.

  • Crop sprayingHexa- and octocopters that carry a full tank, sortie after sortie, in heat and dust.
  • Survey and mappingLong, steady passes where motor efficiency decides how much ground one battery covers.
  • InspectionClose flight near bridges, towers and lines, where the ESC must answer every correction at once.
  • Logistics and heavy liftPayload drones that need torque in reserve, not a motor run at its limit all day.
  • ExportWe take export orders directly from Chennai.

Collaborate with us

We develop propulsion with drone companies, not only for them. Bring us your airframe and mission, and we will design, prototype and test the motor and controller around it with your team.

  • Winding and motor size matched to your propeller and payload
  • Mounts and arm clamps made for your frame
  • ESC firmware tuned to your flight controller
  • Small prototype batches before production volumes

  1. Share the briefAirframe, all-up weight, propeller, payload and how long it must fly.
  2. We propose a unitAn existing model, a modified winding or a new size, with the reasoning behind it.
  3. Prototype and test togetherBench runs in our lab, then flight tests on your airframe.
  4. Build to volumeProduction on our own line in Chennai, with the same tests on every unit.

How a unit is made

Everything that decides how a unit performs is made on our own line: winding, magnet insertion, balancing and testing.

  1. Start with the core

Every unit starts from a laminated steel stator core: thin sheets stacked and bonded into one block, ready for winding.

  2. Wind it

Copper goes onto every tooth on our winding machine, and the leads are brought out to the three phase pads on the controller.

  3. Build the rotor

N52H magnets go into an aluminium bell, investment cast or CNC turned, on our own magnet insertion machine. Every rotor is balanced.

  4. Run it on the bench

Each unit is assembled with its ESC and run on a test bench in our quality lab before it leaves Chennai.
